Members are invited to enter our Winter Exhibition, to be held in the Round Tower Gallery, Black Swan Arts, from Friday 4 December to Sunday 20 December.

Entry Requirements 2026

Members may submit up to two pieces of artwork (paintings, ceramics, sculpture, print, textiles). Artwork must be well presented.
SIZES ARE LIMITED; to provide members with more flexibility, the limitations for exhibition art are: maximum combined dimensions of height and width of 80 cm, including frame if applicable. For example: 30×50 cm, 20×60 cm, and 40×40 cm.
All exhibition artwork must be original; reproduction prints are not acceptable. We do not accept giclée digital art.
NO CHANGES can be made to entries after submission. Frome Art Society are not responsible for artwork sales this year, as we are using the Black Swan Arts till payment system. Hence, the details of your SUBMISSION ENTRIES NEED TO BE CORRECT, AND CANNOT BE CHANGED.
Entry fees are non-refundable.
All exhibition artworks for sale must be priced in whole pounds, with a recommended minimum sale price of £40.
The Society will retain a 20% COMMISSION on all artwork sales. Please allow for the frame cost and our commission in your sale price. No commission applies to card sales.
The Society reserves the right to reject any unsuitable work or work inadequately presented.
While we will make every reasonable effort to ensure the security of the exhibition, all pieces accepted for the exhibition will be shown entirely at the artists’ risk. Artists are responsible for insuring their own work. Frome Art Society and Black Swan Arts will not accept liability for any loss or damage to works that may occur during the exhibition.
We recommend purchasing insurance through SAA.The Society guarantees that one artwork from each submitting member will be selected. The Committee will then choose additional works to create a cohesive exhibition; their decision is final.

Entries received after the deadline will not be eligible.
After you complete checkout, you will receive an email receipt detailing your entry form submission and payment.

£7.50 per exhibition entry — maximum of two artworks
£2 per browser piece or small 3D entry — maximum of three artworks
£1 for up to twenty cards submitted — all cards priced at £2.50 each

You can win the ‘Appleyard Trophy Award’ and £100 in prize money. The public will vote for their favourite submission to decide the winner.

The exhibition will run for two weeks. Each exhibitor must serve as a steward for AT LEAST ONE 3-HOUR SHIFT.
Stewards can work alone or in pairs and are responsible for processing card sales in the Round Tower Gallery. Stewards will handle artwork sales through the Black Swan shop till.
Exhibiting members will receive an email with the stewards’ rota, where they can choose and book their slot online.

Artwork should be brought to the Round Tower Gallery at Black Swan Arts on Tuesday, 1 December, between 10:00 and 12:00. All artwork must be checked in with the stewards. Remove all packaging materials after delivery and take them away.
No artwork may be removed before the end of the exhibition.
Collection date of unsold artwork will be Monday, 21 December, from 10:00 to 12:00. The Society will not be responsible for work not collected by midday on 21 December.
ARTWORK NOT COLLECTED WILL BE SUBJECT TO A DAILY STORAGE CHARGE

Each member may submit three unframed 2D or small 3D artworks.
NO canvases.
2D Artwork must be mounted, backed with stiff card, and protected by cellophane — NOT CLINGFILM.
Clearly label the back of each piece with:
- TITLE
- YOUR NAME
- MEDIA
- PRICE
Giclée prints must be clearly labelled as such.
Each member may submit up to 20 cards. All cards are priced at £2.50 each.

We would like to use images of your exhibition artwork for our promotional materials and to help spread the word. If you are happy to give permission for Frome Art Society to use your main submissions, please upload your images using the website’s ‘Call for Images’ form below.

Frames and canvases must have a well-attached cord ready for hanging. Please make TWO labels with the following information:
TITLE
YOUR NAME
MEDIUM
PRICE
Attach one label to the back of the artwork. Attach the second label to a piece of string secured to the top back of the artwork, as shown in the illustration below.
