Printmaking is an artistic process that involves transferring ink from a matrix to another surface, typically paper. This technique allows artists to create multiple original artworks, known as prints. Each print is considered an ‘impression,’ and various methods can produce unique visual qualities.
Hayley will be discussing printmaking and the techniques she uses in her art. She will bring various examples showcasing different printmaking methods and techniques. She will introduce and briefly explain techniques such as relief, drypoint, etching, screen printing, collagraphs, and monoprinting.
About Hayley
Art is my primary means of communication and nourishes my soul. The joy I experience in the presence of art motivates me to share that happiness through my creations.
I find great comfort in nature, which helps me feel connected to the world around me. It inspires me to be mindful and to take a moment to reflect.
My passion for art and nature drives my creative process. I confidently explore the interplay of place, memory, and emotion through printmaking, my chosen medium. I emphasise vibrant colours and mark-making, and my styles range from expressive abstracts to detailed botanical pieces. Continuous lines are a big part of my plein-air sketches, allowing me to capture the essence of the moment with clarity and energy.
