2026 Spring Exhibition Report

PARTNERS IN ART

May to June 2026
Long Gallery, Black Swan Arts, Frome

We’ve had an extraordinary five-week exhibition, having been invited by The Black Swan to share in their fortieth anniversary.

Many exhibiting artists answered the call to not only steward longer than usual but also to create artwork in the Long Gallery, a great idea!

SALES
15 paintings from the wall and 3D sculptures were sold, out of a total of 130 displayed; 17 from the browsers, out of 84 displayed; and 292 cards were sold out of a total of 703 submitted.

WINNERS
Our invited judge this year was David Daniels, who did a splendid job at the preview of describing why he chose the winning paintings. Those winners were Gina Poole, congratulations, who received the Vera Skinner Legacy 1st prize for her sensitive painting of her grandchild ‘Sarah’. 2nd prize went to Rebecca Finch for her drawing ‘Ghost, Bramley’s Seedling’ and 3rd prize to Amanda Bee for her painting, ‘High Tide, Cape Cornwall’. Highly commended were Alan Overton for ‘Chloe the Piano-Bike Girl’,  Stuart Weightman for ‘Irish John’ and Melissa Wishart for ‘Off the Lizard Peninsula’.

None of this would be possible without the vital help of members who give their time to putting this whole show together.
A big thank you to all.

WINTER EXHIBITION
This year was all about group exhibitions at the Black Swan, next year, it will all be single-artist shows except for us, so think about taking the opportunity to have your work exhibited. Our next exhibition will be in the Round Tower in the Winter, dates to be confirmed soon.
